Raised in New York City's El Barrio (Spanish Harlem), percussionist Harry Adorno was influenced as a child by the diverse Latin cultures that are found in the Big Apple.
He began his musical training at age 11 at Boys Harbor (currently called The Harbor Conservatory for the Performing Arts).
In 1988, Harry Adorno started his professional career playing timbal for Grupo Fascinación. He later joined Sergio George’s RMM Productions, which, as well as being a wonderful experience for Harry, enabled him to work with a wide range of artists, including Cheo Feliciano, Celia Cruz, Ruben Blades, Adalberto Santiago, Junior Gonzales, Raulin Rosendo, the late Frankie Ruiz, and many other notable Latin performers.
As one of the most highly sought after session musicians in Latin music today, Harry not only performs with many of its greatest artists, but also records with a number of them. He has appeared on Raulin Rosendo’s album Lo Maximo, Simplemente; on Junior Gonzales’s album Mis Raizes; and on Willie Colon’s album Demasiado Corozon.
Harry Adorno has also recorded with Ray Santos and his Big Band, and with Cachao. He toured with Willie Colon for the past five years, and is currently playing with the Copacabana Band. As a freelancer, Harry plays with numerous artists, both in and out of New York City.
