He's Go-Go Ray, but you may know him as The Drum Counselor. Either way, Go-Go is without a doubt a revered and remarkable drumming performer and instructor.
Born and raised in Dallas, TX, he started drum lessons at age 9 and went pro by age 17. Now residing in Kansas City, MO, Go-Go's professional career has at times kept him on the road for 250 days a year. He's a former Guitar-Center Drum-Off Champion, and he was also the replacement for the great Jim Riley as private drum instructor at Kansas City Drumworks. Go-Go Ray currently teaches drumming, with an emphasis on creative concepts, in the KC area.
The Drum Counselor is always performing and/or recording with various artists. He also teaches at Guitar Source in Overland Park, KS. and Big Dude's Music City in Kansas City, MO.
The Drum Counselor will celebrate 9 years of teaching in February 2006 and 28 years of drumming in September 2005.
