Giovanni Imparato, born in Naples, Italy, studied percussion at the conservatory and is specialized in Cuban and Afro Cubans rhythms. Amongst others , his teachers were: Justo Pelladito, Carlos Aldama Perez, Lowered Angel Chang, Reinaldo Hernandez Guillermo Lopez Clemente, Nenè Alejandro Carvajal, John Amira (in New York) and, in Africa (Senagal), with Sing Sing Faye of Dakàr.



Giovanni has taken an interest different musical expressions including Salsa, Jazz, Funky, Ethnic, Wordmusic and he participates in dance shows as percussionist, singer, ballet dancer and performer.



In 1991 he has composed music for theater to the Festival of Todi. he has studied in Cuba with Goyo Hernandez and Lazaro Ros, and in Italy with the tenor Luigi Rumbo and the soprano Rosanna Rossoni. He has deepened study of dance with the Cuban's dancer Carmen de Armas.



Currently he teaches rhythms and Afro-Cuban musical instruments in Rome, Naples and Cagliari, and is Endoser of Meinl percussion. He teaches exclusively Drumcircle in Italy for the Mananara company. He has always combined enthousiasm with the technical-musical learning in combination with the own existential research. He is fascinated by the rituals used with the drums and with the concept "sciamanico" and "maieutico". In this experience he has collaborated with Arnold Kayserling and Ferro Ledvinka. During the past few years he is part of an evolutionary program, a job of spiritual research by sciamanico's point of view where the music occupies a fundamental role, has fed besides the proper intuitive aspect and inherent arcane learning to the music formulating three types of experiences formula.



He has collaborated with: Richie Haven, Paco De Lucia, Ray Charles, Chico Buarque, George Garzone, Forrest Butchell.
