Germán Baratto finished his Bachelor in Arts at the University of Puerto Rico and did additional studies at the Puerto Rico Conservatory and Berklee School of Music. Upon completing his undergraduate degree, Germán attended Middle Tennessee State University where he earned his Master in Arts in Jazz Studies and Percussion.
Next, Germán Baratto worked as an adjunct Professor at Middle Tennessee State University and as the Percussion Coordinator for the Oakland High School Marching Band. In addition, he worked as adjunct faculty at the University of North Alabama in Florence, AL and collaborated with the Global Education Center in Nashville, TN.
Germán Baratto's music for percussion ensembles and his articles have been published by Row Loff productions, the Percussive Notes Journal and Modern Drummer. Germán has also presented drum set and latin percussion clinics in the US in North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and out of the country in Bogota (Colombia) and San Juan (Puerto Rico).
In June 2012 Germán Baratto became Meinl USA's Percussion Artist Relations Coordinator and Percussion Product Specialist.
