Born September 29th of 1967 in Buenos Aires, Argentina and after a soccer and tenistic childhood Gerardo begged his cousin to give him his drums.
As a Beatles fan he started playing along their records and some time later started listening to other musical styles like Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Lennon, MC Cartney, Phil Collins, The Police and others Pop artists of that time.
At 19 he started studying with Sergio Mandel, who guided him and made him discover fusion, jazz-rock, Jeffrey Porcaro, Omar Hakim, Steve Gadd, Peter Erskine, and others.
In 1989 he performed with his band Karma at the Chateau Rock Festival in Cordoba. With other bands, he did some TV Shows in ATC, and later with a band named El Limite, he performed on Much Music, Canadian TV Music Channel, with Charly Moreno , Jose Rios, Javier Fernandez and Octavio Stampalia (Anima).
After that he studied for a while with Pepi Taveira.
In 1999 he recorded the first album of Lapo Gessaghi. It was Lapo who introduced him to Mr. Marcelo Rodriguez or better say Gillespi who already recorded a CD and had another one on door waiting to be released.
Playing with that band means not only being with great musicians but also share stage with people like Charly Garcia, Salinas, Daniel Maza, Patan Vidal, Beto Satragni, Javier Malosetti, Alejandro Herrera, Mario Parmisano, Carlos Madariaga and many more.
In 2001 he participaded in playing some percussion on one song of the show Spinetta. He met Luis through another drummer, Jota Morelli. In the year 2002 he recorded with Gillespi the cd Live in Gonnet and in the last part of 2003 he recorded Es, his last cd with all originals tunes from Gillespi.
Currently he is also working on Lapo's CD. The cd is called Los de Asi and it will be released soon.
