George Calhoon plays drums in 7 Licks is a high powered blues influenced Rock & Roll Trio featuring soulful vocals with plenty of lead & slide guitar work and "on the spot" improvisational jams. The band was created in early 2003 under the name Joker Fuel.
George Calhoon has been an in-demand drummer on the Atlanta music scene for many years. His resume boasts many credits including: Lee Moses, Francine Reed, Lotsa Papa, Percy Sledge, Derek St. Holmes, House Rocker Johnson, George Hughley, Palomino Duck and many more.
Also, George has been teaching drums for 25 years. He has taught at Keynote Music, Firehouse Music, Atlanta Drums & Percussion, Hamilton Music and Gwinnett School of Music.
George Calhoon has been instructed in percussion by Jack Bell (Georgia State University & Atlanta Symphony) Mick Cebulski (Dekalb College & Emory University) Mark Yanich (Atlanta Symphony) and Bill Molenhof (Berklee University Boston).
