After six years with the classic metal band Aftershok, drummer George Borden stepped down after their May 19, 2006 gig in Bridgeville, PA. George said in a statement: "I'm going to miss playing with the band. We made two great classic metal CDs and played numerous fantastic gigs together. We had a tremendous time in all we accomplished. I have to end my involvement with the band for family and professional matters. I would like to thank all of our fans from all over the world for their appreciation and support all these years. And I wish my band mates all the best with their future."



Aftershok, who feature in their ranks former Shok Paris lead vocalist Vic Hix, were nominated by the Cleveland Free Times in the "Best Metal Band" category as part of their 2006 Music Awards.
