Gene Markiewicz is one of Indianapolis’ most respected drummers and percussion educators. He was nducted into the Indianapolis Jazz Foundation Hall Of Fame on November 17, 2011.
Gene Markiewicz has performed Jim Edison, Al Cobine, The Buselli/ Wallarab Jazz Orchestra, Steve Robinette, Bill Lancton, The Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and co-led the award winning Carter/Markiewicz Jazz Quartet with the late jazz legend Chuck Carter.
Gene Markiewicz currently co-leads Farrelly/Markiewicz Jazz Quartet with saxophonist Jim Farrelly.
He has attended Indiana Weslayan University and is a graduate of Marian University.
