Gemma Clarke started playing the drum at age fifteen. She plays drums in an all-girl band from London called The Suffrajets.



Gemma Clarke also played drums in Babyshambles, the band featuring Peter Doherty of The Libertines fame, until January 2004. Clarke was replaced by Adam Ficek.



Her place in the band had been in doubt ever since her kit was destroyed by a stage invasion by angry fans at London’s Astoria in December 2004.
