Gareth Hamlin studied percussion at the Royal Welsh College of music and drama where he graduated with honours in 2003. He is now teaching part time for RCT music service and freelances around the country.



Gareth Hamlin has played with a number of orchestras such as the Welsh Sinfonia, Sinfonia Cymru,the BBC National orchestra of Wales and the Welsh Chamber Orchestra as 2nd percussion on the Carl Jenkins 2005 National Requiem tour.



Gareth Hamlin has also played in a number of shows all over the South Wales area. As well as playing within these ensembles, Gareth has co-created a percussion duo called Stick 2 2 which has performed and are still performing in primary schools around Wales.



As well as playing and teaching Gareth Hamlin has set up his own publishers where he has written percussion music ranging from solo to ensemble music at a range of levels.
