Fuyu was born in Osaka, Japan. He started playing at the age of two.
He was around many great musicians from an early age, because his father toured and recorded all the time with his B-3 (organ). His mother was his manager, so basically his whole family was on the road all the time. When he was eight, the family moved to New York. He graduated from La Guardia High School of Music & Arts and met some of the craziest and talented people.
Around the same time, he was signed to Warner Bros, with a band he used to play the drums, compose, and produce for. Since then, he performed, recorded, and/or toured with artists like Hiram Bullock, Allure, Dj Logic, Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra, Gary Bartz, Shania Twain, Amount Boyz, Joey Ramone, Soulive, Gospellars (Tokyo), Robert Randolph & The Family Band.
