Noise Ensemble was created by Ethan Lewis Maltby. With a passion for film and as a former percussionist/performer, composer Ethan Lewis Maltbyʼs portfolio is varied and intriguing. After graduating with a BA in Film and an MA in Composition, Ethan went on to collaborate with screen writer/lyricist Christopher Neame on the critically acclaimed musical Courtenay and to score over 20 short films including Windmill Boy, Giversgreeve, the award winning shorts La Mirada Oblique, Gloria, and The Legacy directed by Spanish film-maker Jesús Monllao.
Ethan's many concert works include Momentary Angel for solo harp, which has received many performances including BBC Radio, his Concerto for Harp and Piano and a song cycle to be premiered in autumn 2006. His interest in combining music technology with acoustic instruments led him to compose the soundtrack for the first British virtual reality stage play, A Midsummer Nightʼs Dream for the University of Kent.
Ethan Lewis Maltby is currently in the process of editing his directorial debut, the short film, Coercion. Also in development are the score for Mike Kehoeʼs Ironwerks, a series of works for the flute and harp duo Willow, and his new musical, with lyricist Renée Martineau, The Thing That Came From Elsewhere – a B-Musical.
