Erik Sayenga played drums in cult grindcore legends Dying Fetus, hailing from Baltimore, USA. Sayenga replaced previous drummer Kevin Talley after the 2000 album "Destroy The Opposition".
Erik Sayenga started playing drums when he was 5 years old and has been around music all his life. He has played with many bands in his past, starting with Florida's Necropsy whom changed their name to Sanguinary and released 2 demos in 1991. This band included Richard Johnson in their line-up, whom would later team up witj Erik again.
Erik Sayenga relocated in 1994 to Virginia and joined Witch-hunt on bass. They released a few cd's and on 2000's Souls Enshrouded Fire, Erik took on the guitar duties as well as drums and vocals. He sessioned with a few bands on drums (As The Sea Parts, Aurora Borealis) but none of them worked out to be permanent band.
In 1996 Sayenga joined Dying Fetus on drums to fill in for a tour. He went back to Witch hunt for a few years and rejoined Fetus in 2001. Witch-hunt soon disbanded, and in October of 2004, Warthrone was born. In this project, featuring Richard Johnson (ex-Witch-Hunt, Sanguinary) on vocals and Kristel (ex-Witch-Hunt, Dark Purity) on keyboards and bass, Erik is writing all the music as well as handling drums, guitars and some bass.
In May 2005 drummer Erik Sayenga left Dying Fetus "due to circumstances beyond his control".
