Mr. Emmanuel Séjourné is one of the worlds leading percussionists specializing in keyboards. In 1981, he founded the ensemble "Noco Music". Their CD 'saxophone & percussion' won the European Audio visual Grand Prix awarded by the Académie du discque Français. To date he has premiered over one hundred works including concertos, chamber music and solos throughout the world. He has made solo appearances with Symphony orchestras and given recitals in Europe, Far East and North-America. In 1999 he served as jury member at the World competition 1999 and played duet concert with Keiko Abe. He appeared - as a soloist or with his ensemble - at many significant concert stages with several broadcastings by Radio France, BBC, WDR, RTA & Norwegian Radio.
As well as actively playing contemporary music , Emmanuel Séjourné also plays improved music. His first concerto for Vibes and strings was created on September 99 by Orchestre d'Auvergne and his show "Mallets planet" written and composed for the groupe "Percussions Claviers" Lyon, begins its third tour season. Head of the Pedagogy department of the Strasbourg Conservatory, he specializes in keyboard percussion in which area he has created a course of study for highly advanced players, the first of its kind in France.
Author of a vibraphone method (éditions Leduc) and several pieces for percussion (éditions Furzeau, Lemoine, Combre, Alfonce, Zimmerman, Smit Publications) he was nominated as Pedagogic Advicer to the French Ministry of Cultural Affairs.
He frequently visits the Major conservatories en Europe, Japan and North America as lecturer. He has made a number of recordings on the lables Montaigne, Accord Una Corda, Etcetera, Musifrance Erato and for the jazz label MFP Berlin. His last CD (christal records) with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra is received with great succes.
