A former professional drummer, Donna Bailey quit playing about 20 years ago because of health problems that restricted her neck and arm movements.
Around 2008, Donna Bailey picked up the sticks again and began playing drums once a month with her church band, hoping to regain her strength. Though it was hard at first, Bailey said she recently started feeling ready again.
In August 2010 Donna Bailey jammed with some of her musical idols at My Record Fantasy, a rock 'n' roll fantasy camp that allows fans to rub elbows with famous artists, and won the opportunity of a lifetime.
Donna Bailey auditioned among 20 hopefuls for a spot on former Monkees drummer Micky Dolenz's new Carole King tribute album, and was eventually chosen by the Monkee himself to perform on his release. Micky Dolenz's 'King for a Day' was released later in 2010.
