Derrick Tabb is a professional drummer with the Rebirth Brass Band, one of New Orleans's most popular acts.



Drumsticks in hand, Derrick Tabb has also found a way to transform children from troublemakers to tuba players. The drummer is executive director of Roots of Music, a program to give young people an alternative to New Orleans' streets. Derrick's music education program provides free tutoring, instruments and music instruction to more than 100 students.
