Dennis Brown is a late jazz drummer from London in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, who valued music above all else.
Dennis Brown was known by many of his friends as the Clown Prince of Jazz drums who was originally based in Montreal during the 50’s and 60’s.
A seasoned professional who played with some of the worlds greats including Dizzy Gillespie, Machito and Nelson Symonds; Dennis was always a showman who loved to ham it up at the kit, but never at the cost of the music.
Dennis Brown was a man who demanded a certain quality from the musicians he played with and almost always was able to inspire it. A member of the London jazz group “Jack Kerouac’s Dream”, Dennis Brown’s skill and finesse found it’s way to the heart’s and ears of many a London Music fan and will live on there for a good long time to come.
Former bandmate, bassist Peter Miller says: "Dennis Brown was the real deal. Before I met Dennis I didn’t truly know what Jazz was, he taught me everything I know about it. There is no one that could touch his feel and vibe and knowledge of the genre. It’s a real honour that I got to know music like I did through Dennis."
