Davide DiRenzo is one of the most versatile and in-demand drummers in Canada, with an equally strong profile in the jazz, rock, pop and R&B scenes coast-to-coast and beyond.



He has performed and recorded extensively around the world with a wide range of artists including jackSoul, Chaka Khan, Tom Jones, Mariah Carey, Holly Cole, Anne Murray, Tomi Swick, Nikki Yanofsky, Jesse Cook, David Wilcox, Tom Cochrane and Red Rider, Hawksley Workman, Gordie Sampson, Feist, Steven Page and Ed Robertson (Barenaked Ladies), Kevin Breit, Emilie Claire Barlow, Nikki Yanofsky, Colin James, Raine Maida, Chantal Kreviazuk, Denzal Sinclair, Matt Dusk, Marc Jordan, Liona Boyd, Philosopher Kings, Jarvis Church, Danny Michel, Measha Brueggergosman, Molly Johnson, David Myles, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Shirley Eikhard, Carol Welsman, JD Fortune (INXS), Fefe Dobson and many others.



For four consecutive years (2004-2008), he was the house drummer on CTV's Canadian Idol, the most-watched variety show in Canadian history. This included televised performances with such artists as Mariah Carey, Tom Jones, Dennis DeYoung (Styx), Roger Hodgson (Supertramp) and Anne Murray. Davide has also appeared with various artists on six episodes of Live at the Rehearsal Hall on Bravo TV.



He has also performed as the house drummer for the popular City TV’s Canada’s Got Talent in 2012. Davide has won six Juno awards to date, including two in 2007: one as a member of jackSoul (Best R&B Recording) and one as a band member with Tomi Swick (Best New Artist). He also received a National Jazz Award nomination the same year for Jazz Drummer of the Year.



He also just recently took home a Juno in 2013 with Emilie Claire Barlow in the Vocal Jazz Album of the Year. This past year has been a busy one including European, Japanese, and Canadian tours with Holly Cole, and festivals with Danny Michel, Emilie Claire Barlow, Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviasuk. Davide has been really excited and honoured to perform on a weekly basis with his good friends, Mark Lalama and Rich Moore during these past two years.



He also runs his own home studio (Studio 86) where he provides drum tracks for producers and artists around the world. Davide proudly uses and endorses Sonor drums, Zildjian cymbals, Vic Firth sticks, Evans drumheads, Puresound snare wires, Hardcase drum cases, Neumann and Sennheiser microphones and Rhythm Tech percussion.
