Glens Falls, NY native David Harris has been playing drums and percussion for 22 years. He started playing in the pit for regional theatre productions and various symphonic gigs at the age of 15. By the time he graduated from Glens Falls High School, he was already a union percussionist working in a variety of situations: rock, big band, symphonic, musical theatre, and whatever else looked challenging.



David received his college education at Adirondack Community College, SUNY Oneonta, and The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam. He has studied privately with Scott Severance, Rich LaPlante, Larry Levine, Cynthia Symanski Lee, James Petercsak, and Tommy Igoe. Since college he has continued to work in several musical genres and even had a career as a touring sound engineer before finally deciding to take the leap and become a full-time musician.



Once the leap was made, David kept busy with popular Albany, NY party band The Refrigerators, Upstate NY Classic Rock/ Top 40 group The Jonathan Newell Band, the Glens Falls Symphony Orchestra, a jazz trio with New York City pianist Tedd Firth and Albany bassist Mike Wicks, and many other freelance gigs that were all over the map stylistically. Then, in early 2003, David got a call that would take him to the next level...



He toured for ten months in 2003-04 with the National Tour of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical CATS. That tour led to an invitation to play drums for the 25th Anniversary National Tour of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical EVITA, which was directed by twenty-time Tony Award winner Hal Prince and Larry Fuller. Broadway veteran Kevin Farrell was Music Supervisor. The EVITA tour ended in January of 2006.



When he’s not touring with musical theatre productions, David can be found freelancing on the live and studio scenes between Upstate New York and New York City.
