Breaking necks with an MPC2000, Dirty Drummer is that gritty ear drum funk created by North Carolina based producer, musician and DJ David Haire. Dj-ing, Producing beats for, and playing in various styles of groups since the early 90's, Dirty Drummer has had a taste of many styles of music.
David Haire has been drummer for a punk band, percussionist for artists such as Supastition, Ursula Rucker, Rich Medina, and Earman Ali to name a few.
Dirty Drummer has crafted a versatile sound with emphasis on well-placed samples over rugged beats as well as sample free compositions. Over the past 10 years Dirty has put together countless albums and beat tapes that have made their way around the world including CD-R classics like "Beatmusic" in 2003 and "The Blakey Album" in 2004 which was DD's answer to the "Jay-z Black Album re-mix thing" putting Jay-z's lyrics over beats comprised and inspired by Art Blakey & Jazz messengers.
In 2005 David Haire / Dirty Drummer spent some quality time in the studio putting together "Dirty's Mobile Beat Shack" and brought in some old friends like J. Scienide and Supastition for a contribution. Not to mention the collaboration of concept and art by the excellent Aussie illustrator Brad Howe. Dirty's Mobile Beat Shack brings together Hip Hop, Afro Beat, Funk, Jazz, Soul and flows in and out like butter.
