David Dely is band leader in percussion group Tumba y Quema, featuring Csaba Szabo, József Cibere, Csaba Pusztai, Claudia Dely, Istvan Dely and Shango Dely.
David Dely studied at the Colombian and Afro Latin Ethnic hand drumming and percussion at the Millero Congo Percussion School (later renamed EPEBA, Escuela de percusión de Barranquilla) founded and directed by his father, Istvan Dely, Cartagena-Barranquilla, 1988-1992.
An Afro Cuban Workshop with conga drummer Andrés Miranda, of Cuba’s Irakere group, followed at the Atlántico University, Barranquilla, 1995.
Next was a Brazilian Percussion Workshop with Joao Bosco from Brazil, at the EPEBA Percussion School, Barranquilla, 1996.
David Dely did advanced studies in Afro Colombian percussion and Afro Cuban bata drumming with Istvan Dely, EPEBA, Barranquilla, 1990-1996.
David Dely is founding member, flutist, drummer, percussionist and guitarist for eleven years, of the experimental Afro Caribbean fusion group Millero Congo (bandleader Istvan Dely), Cartagena-Barranquilla, 1988-97. As such, performed in countless concerts, recitals, workshops, conferences, festivals, videos, special TV and radio features and tours around the country.
He is a member of the Choir of the Conservatory of Atlántico University, Barranquilla, 1995. As such took part of the International Choir Festival in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Dely played with Latin Jazz groups of band leaders Daniel Moncada, Viola Camacho and Jorge Emilio Fadul, Barranquilla, 1996-1997.
