In the film Rock On, Purab Kohli, one of the main characters, may be seen slamming the drums on screen, but it is actually percussionist Darshan Doshi, who has played the drums.



Darshan is also playing the drums in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance.



Earlier at the age of nine Darshan had impressed everyone with his skills when he participated in Little Wonders, a musical show for children put together by music directors Kalyanji-Anandji.



Darshan performed for the very first time he was just two-and-half years old. Since then he has won innumerable awards for his performances.



Darshan states: "I always wanted to be a percussionist. I do enjoy the attention that I get from people but I still have a long way to go. This is just the beginning. I would like to be associated with drums in the same way that people associate Zakir Husain with the tabla. However, for the moment I want to compose music for an album that will be completely a percussion album.”
