Dan Farrell began his drum corps career in 1972 as a baritone player in his home-town drum corps, the Phantom Regiment. Being a part of the growth of the corps throughout the 1970's was an experience that still pays dividends to this day. After graduating from the Regiment in 1980, Dan was brought onto the brass staff, where he continued to learn under the guidance of Jim Wren and Dr. Dan Richardson, while also studying trombone with Charlie Winking at Quincy College, then James Mattern at Northern Illinois University.
After serving as an instructor and caption head of the brass staff through 1992, Dan moved into the program coordinator position for the 1993 season and, other than the occasional year or three off, has served in that capacity ever since.
Dan also serves on both the Phantom Regiment Board of Directors and the Phantom Regiment Alumni Board. In his other life, Dan is the Vice President of Process Graphics Corp., a Rockford-based display manufacturer.
