Cory Grady was playing the drums in The Black Dahliah Murder until June 2004. Singer Trevor Strnad stated on the band's web site:

"Cory Grady has been asked to leave the band due to personal and professional conflicts. Cory has been in the band since its inception, and it was not an easy decision on our part. In the good news, we are honored to welcome Zach Gibson [ex-Gutrot, Mutilated] to the throne."
