Chris Stewart was the initial drummer of England's rock act Genesis, the band that started in 1967 and featured musicians who would become quite famous, like Mike Rutherford and Peter Gabriel.
In 1969 record label Decca agreed to finance the groups first full length album "From Genesis to Revelations". By this time Chris Stewart had been replaced on drums by John Silver, who in turn gave away to John Mayhew shortly after the recording of the bands third Decca-single "Where the Sour Turns to Sweet".
