Cees Kalis was the original drummer in Earth and Fire. He had played with them since they formed in 1967, and celebrated their first successes with the singles 'Seasons' and 'Ruby is the one'.



In 1970 Cees Kalis decided to part ways with the band, and started working as a teacher. He was follwed up by Ton van der Kleij.



On Sunday April 16, 2006 Cees Kalis passed away after a heart attack. He was 56 years old.
