Carlos Guevara was born in Caracas, Venezuela on June 8th, 1986.
When he was thirteen, he started his musical studies at the Academia Hemisferio Musical (Musical Hemisphere Academy), under the guidance of the Maestro José Antonio Mato.
Two years later, he was admitted at the Sistema de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles de Venezuela (Venezuelan System of Orchestras for Children and Youth), at its center located at La Rinconada to pursue his studies in Percussion, with Maestro Julio Cegarra.
In 2004, Carlos Guevara began studying at the Conservatorio de Música Simón Bolívar (Conservatory of Music Simon Bolivar) with the Maestro Jaider Arteaga.
That same year he joined the percussion lines of the Orquesta Sinfónica Juvenil de Caracas (Juvenile Symphonic Orchestra of Caracas), conducted, by then, by Maestro Gustavo Dudamel and Maestro Dietrich Paredes.
In 2006, Maestro Arteaga decided to look for new horizons and left Carlos under the guidance of Maestro Ricardo Alvarado.
In 2007, Carlos Guevara started his studies on drums with Maestro Andrés Briceño and the gates of the Banda Sinfónica Juvenil Simón Bolívar (Symphonic Juvenile Band Simon Bolivar) were opened for him, under the conduction of Jesús Ignacio Pérez Perazzo; where he held the role of percussionist until July 2009.
In December 2008, Carlos Guevara was invited by Jose Antonio Abreu to the Asian Tour of the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Venezolana Simón Bolívar (Symphonic Orchestra of the Venezuelan Youth Simon Bolivar), under the conduction of the Maestro Gustavo Dudamel, in which he visited China, South Korea and Japan.
Nowadays, Carlos Guevara is, among other occupations, one of the drummers of Simón Bolívar Big Band Jazz, conducted by the Maestro Andrés Briceño. In August 2009, Carlos had the opportunity of participating at the Festival Internacional de Percusión de Los Llanos (Internacional Percussion Festival of the Plains), playing as a soloist, and also with the Maestro John Grimes. Together with the Simón Bolívar Big Band Jazz, he performed at the Festival Ajazzgo, in Cali, Colombia, in front of and audience of 15,000 members. In Bogotá, Colombia, he also performed at the Festival Jazz al Parque (Jazz Festival at the Park) on September 2009.
In November 2009, Carlos Guevara played together with Roberto Quintero and one of the best marimba players of the World, Dave Samuels, in a concert with the Big Band Jazz in Caracas, Venezuela.
Additionally, Carlos has performed in jam session with the guitarist master Adam Rogers, he has taken some courses with Maestros Rainer Seegers and Christopher Roldan. He has also being in Drums Masterclass with Maestros Andrés Briceño, Sonny Emory, Russ Miller, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández, Robbie Ameen, Paul Wertico, Antonio Sánchez and Jonathan Mover. Carlos has also participated in Jazz seminars together with the Big Band and has shared the stage with the Maestros Rolando Briceño, James Seeley, Richard Griffin, James Delano Zollar, Stafford Hunter, Danny Mixon, Nicolas Folmer, Lorenzo Barriendos and Robert Quintero.
In 2010 Carlos Guevara has played with Saxofon player of Irakere Roman Filiu and Trompet player Ed Wolf of USA but living now in Bolivia. In august of the year he has performed with the percussion master Jerry Leake.
Since 2009 founds the rock band Hékura together with Gabriel Vadacchino (Bass), Tony Machado (Guitar) and Gonzalo Rolando (Lead Vocal).
Carlos Guevara is a founder member of the Symphonic Rock Orchestra Simon Bolivar that belongs to the Sistema de Orquestas Infantiles y Juveniles de Venezuela (Venezuelan System of Orchestras for Children and Youth) this orchestra was founded in june 2011 playin in greats theaters of Caracas like Sala Ana Julia Rojas of The Arts University of Venezuela, El Hatillo Theater, House Of the Artist Amador Bendayan, Hard Rock Café Caracas.
In October of 2011 Carlos performed beside the Saxofon Master Pierre Bertrand Co- Director of the Paris Jazz Big Band.
Between October and November of 2011, Carlos Guevara was touring for USA, performing in Jazz at Lincoln Center, Harlem Stage an the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, in New York and Jordan Hall in Boston.
In December of 2011 Carlos Guevara performed beside the Euphonium Master Steven Mead.
In 2012 Carlos Guevara made a national tour with the urban percussion group Takto by different cities of Venezuela, and played in a concert next to one of the most popular artists of this country representative Desorden Publico´s Horacio Blanco alongside Carlos also the band to which he belongs, Hékura, has the opportunity to perform at a concert at the International Percussion Festival De Los Llanos in Guanare, Portuguesa state, beside one of the most influential rock guitarists Venezuelan Niky Scarola.
