Brian McGee was the original drummer in the Simple Minds when they started in 1978.



Around 1981 the Simple Minds' transformation from cult to popular favourites started to take form. This very success unnerved Brian McGee, who abhorred during touring. In August 1981 he was replaced by former Slik and Skids drummer Kenny Hyslop.
