Brian Craig drums in Seven Witches. He is not to be mistaken with Canadian drummer Brian Craig who plays in metal outfit Ghoulnatics. Brian began his music aspirations at the age of 11 when he started playing drums in the school orchestra and marching band. Early musical influences such as Kiss and Van Halen inspired him along the way but he really found his calling after hearing the likes of Tommy Lee and Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy) playing pounding double bass rhythms.
He continued his musical education throughout high school and then upon graduation made the big move from the small northern California town of Santa Rosa to the music mecca of Los Angeles. With influences such as Fates Warning and especially King Diamond, he soon became involved with the progressive metal band New Eden. Their original 7 song demo quickly led to signing with the New Jersey based Sentinel Steel records. New Eden put out "Through the Make Believe" and quickly replaced the original vocalist with no other than the infamous James Rivera of Helstar fame. Disagreements in the band led James, Brian and 2 other members to separate and form Destinys End.
This band would take a heavier darker approach to metal and quickly gained the attention of Brian Slagel, head of Metal Blade Records. "Breathe Deep the Dark" was the first release and received very high acclaim from many of the worlds music magazines and was supported with a complete US tour opening for Nevermore and Iced Earth as well as appearances at the Wacken Open air festival and Bang your Head festival in Germany. Followed by a 3 week tour of Germany, Belgium and Holland with Sacred Steel and Wardogs.
Destinys End then released "Transition." A record that was highly anticipated but not nearly as well received as the first. In the meantime vocalist James Rivera met guitarist Jack Frost while attending a Helstar reunion show. The two quickly became friends as well as discussing possible future plans of working together musically. James knowing of Brians growing disinterest in Destinys Ends long inactivity mentioned him to Jack who was in the process of searching for a drummer.
After a couple of brief conversations Brian gambled and bought a plane ticket to New Jersey to record the third Seven Witches record, not even knowing if Jack wanted him to do the record or not. As it turns out Jack must have appreciated his willingness to just go for it and offered him the gig. With great excitement, he now awaits the forthcoming release of Xiled to Infinity and the opportunity to come to your town soon and kick some ass!
