Brazilian percussionist Bosco D'Oliveira is an internationally renowned performer, recording artist, bandleader and teacher. He was was born in 1952 in Belo Horizonte, a city in Brazil north west of Rio.
In 1984 he co-founded London Samba School with Alan Hayman. D'Oliveira has performed with many artists, including Grupa Sambando, his own band Arakatuba, Beth Orton, Vic Godard, Kate Bush and Terry Callier among others.
