Billy Hayes played drums in Memphis-based punkrocker Jay Reatard's band Reatards until he was fired in October 2009.



Billy Hayes was also in The Barbaras, a psychedelic pop band based in Memphis and The Boston Chinks, based in Memphis as well



More recently Billy Hayes was drumming in Wavves, until he departed in November 2010. He was replaced by Jacob Cooper, formerly of The Mae Shi.
