Bill Sabo was the original drummer in Cleveland's eighties metal band Shok Paris. He played on the band's first recording, Go Down Fighting, a track that appeared on the 1983 "Cleveland Metal" compilation album. The song instantly became a regional hit, placing Shok Paris at the forefront of the fledging '80s Cleveland metal scene.



Overnight the band became a headlining act after having only played a small handful of shows. Bill Sabo also played on the band's debut album, "Go For The Throat", released in 1984 on Auburn Records, co-writing all of the songs on the record. He left the group before the recording of their next album , "Steel And Starlight", to pursue other musical interests. Sabo was followed up by Jan Roll.



Bill Sabo suffered heart failure and passed away on March 16, 2007. Hewas 46 years old, and survived by wife Erica (39) and sons Drew (19) and Cameron (7).
