As Boston hardcore band Slapshot was about to tour the US in the fall of 1992, initial drummer Mark McKaye told the band that he couldn't join the rest of the band. Hence Barry Hite, the drummer from a band called Slaughter Shack [which included ex-DYS guitar-player Andy Strachan], filled in for the tour.
When the band came back Jack Kelly didn't want Mark back. Jack Kelly thought Barry Hite was a much better drummer and Mark McKaye didn't seem like he wanted to come back. However, there was never an official split.
