A native of Israel. amongst his solo appearances are recitals in new york, philadelphia, washington, vienna, budapest, weimar, moscow, novosibirsk, taipei, jerusalem and tel-aviv.
Asaf has been an active part of the new york city music scene up until 2002. he has played with various orchestras including the philadelphia virtuoso orchestra and the israeli philharmonic. while living in NYC, Asaf performed with numerous jazz, pop, latin and brazilian ensembles.
Asaf was a guest speaker at stanford, UC davis and SF state universities, where he delivered a series of lectures and recitals at concerning Israeli music.
Asaf is an alumnus of ‘manhattan school of music' where he earned his ‘bachelors of music' degree. he has been a recipient of the 'america-israel cultural foundation' scholarships as well as scholarships from 'manhattan school of music' and the israeli ministry of culture.
In 2002 asaf moved back to Israel where he has been performing with the israeli opera orchestra, recording with israeli rock artists as well as conducting the tel-aviv young symphonic band.
During 2005, asaf launched 'the biting sheep' - an electro-acoustic duo that creates live dance music. this new project was 'kicked off' in an israeli summer tour.
His current initiative is his marimba solo concert entitled 'asaf roth plays marimba', which was featured lately at the novosibirsk philharmonia hall and at the the 'bolshoi' theatre in moscow.
