Armando Vidal Sanchez was born in Holguin, Cuba and graduated from the Havana Conservatory (E.N.A) in 1992 as a Classical and Cuban music Percussion player.
Armando Vidal has played in various bands in Cuba among which the Orquesta Hermanos Aviles.
Since his arrival in The Netherlands in 1996, he has been performing with La Banda Iré, Saoco, Rumbata, Estrella Acosta, Tumbabo Antillan Project, Bye Ya and recently honoured to be invited as a guest in the new tour of Nueva Manteca Percussion Show and also in a band formed by Ben van Dungen and Nils Fischer called Cubano Extremo featuring Brian Lynch.
Armando Vidal has played as a freelance percussionist player with many others.
He played in The North Sea Jazz Festival with La Banda Iré (1999), Rumbata (2003) and Tumbabo Antillan Project with Izaline Calister (2004).
Armando Vidal also has toured Europe with the Cuban Hip Hop band Eleyo and the Pop Flamenco band called Ifarias from Italy.
Armando Vidal played in 2002 for one week at Ronnies Scott, famous London Jazz club, with a band formed by Greg Handy, New York Tenor Sax player, and drummer Lucas van Merwijk and Cuban Piano Player Ramon Valle.
