Andy Knowles plays drums with The Fiery Furnaces. He is also known as drum tech for Franz Ferdinand drummer Paul Thomson.



In 2005 Franz Ferdinand decided that Thomson should take a new position as third guitarist for the group on some of the band’s new songs. During these tracks, Andy Knowles filled the drumstool at live shows.



The same thing happed in July 2006 at the Benicassim Festival in Spain, because regular sticksman Paul Thomson had become father.
