Los Angeles based independent artist and drum teacher Alex Carlisle is a graduate of the Percussion Institute in Hollywood. He also studied privately with Tim Alexander (Primus), Gil Sharone (Fishbone), Fred Dinkins (The Emotions), Chuck Silverman (author and Latin great) and Jason Gianni (The New Morty Show). He took master classes with Vigil Donati, Gregg Bissonette, Mark Shulman, and Jim Chapin.



Alex Carlisle was hired to teach Avril Lavigne for her 2004 tour, toured in Europe with Los Angeles based goth/country band Miss Derringer and is currently working with ex Skankin' Pickle and Bad Manners bassist Mike Mattingly and N/S Stickman Gary Jibilian.



Alex Carlisle has also worked with Io Perry, Cheem, and Bark - The Musical, among many others.
