Abraham Calleros: My story is not something casual it’s the result of many years of work and learning, ups and downs, changes and experiences like the ones I will describe next.



I was born in Guadalajara, Mexico. I am the youngest of a family of 13th, my parents and most of all, my brothers had a great taste for music, this became one of my first encouragements to music.



In 1973, with two brothers and some friends we started our first band, The spies of the green hat, (Today called Mana). I have the faded memory at age of eight of having our first live presentations where we started to play covers from other English rock bands and we also played something in Spanish, a period in which we continued several years. I would alternate singing and playing the drums, I could barely reach for the pedals with some extraordinary adjustments, I recall also that minors couldn’t go into clubs, bars, pubs, so I remember they would sneak me in and out of the kitchens where they would hide me.



With the years I was more and more interested for the drums, at the beginning of the '80s we started to play and sing rock in Spanish, with our own material, at that time in Mexico, this was very criticized because of the wrong concept of people claiming that rock should only be in English.



Regardless of everything, we started to have more and more acceptation in the media as well as in live concerts, we released 2 records with "Green Hat" (Sombrero Verde).



By the middle of the 80’s, I was in different important bands in Guadalajara an Mexico city, and in some of this I also participate with one of my first compositions called "Quisiera que estuvieras aqui" (wish you were here), this was a National Hit in 1987, and it went on as a hit for a long period of time, becoming one of the classic songs for the beginning era of rock in Spanish in Mexico.



Between all this, I lived some years in Boston, where I vibrate with other musical influences specially with jazz.



I returned to Mexico in the 90’s when the economic crisis was blasting the country, at this moment I had to find new ways of surviving, so I decided to make my own drum shop and give some lessons; at this same period I had the opportunity of being the first Mexican drummer endorsed by two international companies: Paist cymbals and Remo drums.



This last years I have dedicated them to compose, writing thoughts getting a band together, trying to develop something very important, finding new ways, all now printed in this cd without letting time pass fashion and without betraying our soul.
