Ab Tamboer (The Hague, 1950)plays vibraphone, marimba, and drums. From 1969 till 1975 Tamboer played in a band called Galaxis, songs heavily influenced by Jethro Tull and Deep Purple. In 1976 he replaced regula drummer Ton van der Kleij on drums with Earth and Fire for their their Poland tour.
In september 1978 Ab Tamboer became the third drummer with the band and stayed until spring 1983, when Earth and Fire disbanded.
After this he played drums with Het Goede Doel and Ab played during the "revival-tour" as well.
Ab is also a famous session drummer. He played drums on the Falco hit "Rock me Amadeus" and worked with famous Dutch acts liek Ekseption, Sandy Coast, Tee-set, and Jan Akkerman, among many others.
