Markus Wendlinger, Peter Lindsberger, Markus Warscher and René Mair - collectively better known as Austria's most exciting percussion group Drumarctic, will debut with the world's biggest drum kit in Vienna, Austria tomorrow.
The huge drumset will be the highlight of this year's 1st of May festivities at amusement park Wiener Prater with an estimation of 300,000 visitors.
Big Boom specs Named the Big Boom, the mammoth kit measures 21 feet (6.5 metres) tall by 26 feet (8 metres) wide and features enormous Paiste cymbals hovering over gigantic Drumcraft bass drum, snare and toms.
Four drummers needed Due to the massive specs of the Big Boom drumkit, all four drummers of Drumarctic will team up to play it which makes this project rather difficult. Their challenge will be especially difficult because each player has to synchronize their rhythmic patterns with one another while jumping around in 6 meter height.
World premiere with big crashendo The world premiere starts at 1 pm at the Rondeau, in the middle of Vienna’s Prater.
Two different performances (one per hour), will continue throughout the afternoon. The grand-finale will be a big firework in rhythm with the drum show at 10 pm. Expect a celebration with a big crashendo...
