Just last year the Cubop City Big Band celebrated its 10th anniversary with the Latin Vocal Explosion tour. The big band, that excists mainly of international artists, was extended especially for this tour by two major international vocalists: from Curaçao Izaline Calister, who has just released her new album ‘Kanta Hélele’ and Lilian Vieira of internationally renowned Dutch band Zuco 103, from Brasil. It’s a spectacular show that stipulates the diversity of the artists just much as the diversity of the music, ranging from Cuban Latin Jazz to extreme swinging Salsa.

After their first succesful cd ‘Machito’ the band became internationally famous with her following albums such as \'Moré & More\', ‘Cubop City Big Band’, \'Live in The Hague\' and ‘Arsenio’. With other special artists like Claus Tofft and Nelson Gonzalez, Lucas has managed to have an ongoing international setting for every project of the band with the best of the best. For example famous artists like Benjamin Herman and Ilja Reijngoud are part of the CCBB. Recently the CCBB did a few concerts in the Caribbean and this year –at the North Sea Jazz Festival- the band presents the CD of the live experience of the 2005-2006 jubilee tour ‘Latin Vocal Explosion LIVE’.

Together with singer of the band Yma America, Izaline Calister and Lilian Vieira form the spectacular trio that is taking the band through a diversity of songs. Next to that, Izaline will be perfoming on the NSJ with her own band as well, while Lilian was playing at the festival last year with her own band Zuco 103.

The performance of the Cubop City Big Band takes place on Sunday the 16th at 10.00pm in the Congo hall. Till then you can enjoy some video’s of the band during a concert in De Doelen in Rotterdam from January this year.
