Methods of Mayhem have announced an innovative and “interactive” concept for an album collaboration. The Tommy Lee-fronted ensemble is inviting fans, musicians, maniacs and anyone with a great idea to help record their upcoming album.
\"This is a dream come true project where I get to play with the entire world’s creativity and add it to mine. That will produce something truly mind-blowing and amazing!\"
Producer Scott Humphrey (Mötley Crüe, Rob Zombie, The Crystal Method) elaborates:
\"The original Methods Of Mayhem project that we did 10 years ago was a collaboration with some of the biggest artists of the day. The Public Mayhem project is a collaboration with the entire world.\"

Starting on October 5th, isolated instrument tracks, or stems, will be posted on www.thepublicrecord.com. Participants can download the stems and add their own musical ideas, including original recordings, song mixes, arrangements and more. Stems will be available via a wide range of formats including RiffWorks, WAV, Logic, GarageBand, ProTools and the Four Track 3.0 iPhone application.
Methods of Mayhem broke onto the scene in 1999 with their self-titled debut, which went on to become RIAA Gold certified. The album featured Snoop Dog, Kid Rock, George Clinton and Fred Durst among others. The band was a main force of Ozzfest 2000.
