Justin Reynolds, drummer of Tampa, Florida-based metal outfit The Absence, was involved in a severe automobile accident last week. Justin sustained injuries to his neck and back and his car is declared a total loss. The rest of The Absence said in a statement:\"We wish our friend best of luck and a speedy recovery and hope he\'s back doing what he does best soon.\"
For the time being, The Absence\'s drummer position has been filled by Matthew Solka of local group Ares.
The Absence entered Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, Florida in November 2009 to begin recording their third album, for a release via Metal Blade Records later this year. The cd was tracked with Brian Elliot while the mixing duties were handled by Jonas Kjellgren (Scar Symmetry, Carnal Forge).
