Another Animal also features Godsmack guitarist Tony Rombola and bassist Robbie Merrill.

Godsmack frontman Sully Erna, a pretty good drummer himself too by the way, would only choose a select few from many songs for Godsmack\'s next album.

The prospect of letting the rest of those other songs go unheard was unsettling for Larkin, and his fellow Godsmackers. Says the drummer:

\"At the end of the day when Erna.) picks four songs out of 40 that we have composed, we were like, \'Man, we really loved a lot of the stuff he passed over. I can\'t believe he passed on this song. We\'ve got to do something with this.\"

So they did. In Godsmack\'s downtime, Larkin, Rombola and Merrill eventually enlisted the help of Whitfield Crane, whom Larkin knew from his Ugly Kid Joe days. They recorded the music Erna passed on under the band name Another Animal.
