On November 21 2004 Fabian Nodarse presented his new album \'Renacer\' (reborn) to the public in \'De Winkel van Sinkel\' in Utrecht, The Netherlands. With a solid Cuban background Fabian is very well known in the Salsa-world. His band was exceptional this evening. With Nils Fischer, Armando Vidal and Jan Luc van Eendenburg he had gathered a few of the best artists to throw a big percussion party on stage.

Fabian\'s solo album is full of Cuban oriented Salsa songs that, no song excluded, swing, dance and rock at the same time. During the weekly Salsa dance party in Utrecht Fabian and his 16-piece band managed to let nearly everyone dance to his music with strong vocal lines, many rhythmical changes, great arrangements and the ever so typical Salsa horns. This show was spectacular in every way but became even more impressive when Lilian Vierra of Zuco 103 came on stage for a guest performance. With her warm voice of the Brazilian homeland the evening became an even more succesful and intercultural show then one could have expected.
Nils Fischer, Armando Vidal and Liber Torriente recorded all the drums on Renacer for Fabian. During the presentation of the album the band consisted, besides Nils and Armando, of Jan Luc van Eendenburg and Eduardo Alfonso Herrera. Eduardo is a composer and singer and played the guiro during this wild performance, which seemed to never end.
Jan Luc van Eendenburg studied drums at the Rotterdam Conservatory. Besides that he also took lessons from Justo Pelladito en Terry Valdez in Cuba. Some artists and groups he worked with are Salsa Caliente, Nueva Manteca, Rumbatá and Nicky Marrero. Besides his regular performances as an independent artist he teaches Latin Percussion and combo at the Sweelinck Conservatorium and the World Music School in Utrecht.
We allready know Nils Fischer and Armando Vidal as versatile independent artists. In our review of their concert with Nueva Manteca in Woerden you read all about these two artist with a reference list that would make many artists jealous. On their artistpages you\'ll find more streams and images of these rhythmical kings.
This evening was one of blasting percussion and Cuban Glory all over. There should be much more of this type of music in the Netherlands, that\'s for sure! Watch the stream of the percussion solo of Nils and Armando to enjoy what The Netherlands have to offer on Cuban music.
