In 2009 Pearl launched the Demon Drive, a direct drive bass drum pedal that connected the foot-board and the beater in a one unit relationship.

It was voted Best In Show at the NAMM Show and won a MIPA Award at the Messe that year.

The new Demon Chain pedal is driven by Pearl's lightweight Power Chain with low-friction rollers for speed and double chain construction for power and dependability.

Features
The most unique feature of the Demon Chain pedal is Pearl’s exclusive duo-deck, the patented convertible footboard. Through a simple adjustment, the Demon Chain pedal can be adjusted from a traditional shortboard to a longboard pedal, offering a slightly lighter, quicker feel that is the preferred setup when speed is a necessity.

Additional features of this pedal include the two-position beater stroke adjustment and two-position direct link adjustment. Both adjustable features allow you to create a slightly lighter or heavier feel of the pedal depending on your preferred setting. Adjusting the duo-deck in combination with the beater holder and direct link adjustments yields four possible pedal configurations.

To create your ideal pedal configuration, Pearl has also added an infinitely adjustable footboard angle and beater angle, the click-lock spring tension system, smooth Ninja ball bearings, and control core beaters.

Pearl's Demon Chain pedal is also available in a double pedal configuration with z-link universal joints for zero latency.
