Renowned British percussion company Natal, originally founded in the late 1950s by sought-after percussionist Alan Sharp, has made a huge comeback less than a year after Marshall Amplification bought the brand.

The combination of Natal’s long time percussion production experience and the manufacturing strength gained from its relationship with Marshall, has led to an impressive line-up of gear as first time drum builder. It earned Natal the award as best new brand at the 2011 Winter NAMM show last month.
Natal presented four complete new drum ranges plus a full range of hardware. From shell lugs and hoop claws to clamps and from bass pedals to cymbal stands – Natal is producing all hardware components by itself.
On behalf of Natal, Gary Walmsley is your host in the following NAMM videos. He explains how all four new drum ranges have the same features and hardware but give customers the option to choose their own wood (Ash, Birch, Maple, and Bubinga for their flagship series) and lots of finishes.
Natal also presented stave snare drums series (available in Ash, Maple and Bubinga) plus snare drums with ply wooden shells to match the kits and also a range of hand hammered metal shell drums.
In the fourth video Gary Walmsley focuses on Natal Drums’ Pro Series bass pedals (with double and 'lefty' options), which come with either the Speed cam or the Smooth Cam. Both cams feature six bearings for a precise and smooth operation.
In the conclusive video Gary Walmsley shows you Natal’s percussion series: from the entry level Fuego range, via the Spirit rage to the Fusion range, made from Ash wood. Next he shows you the Classic series, for which Natal is using the same molds as Natal’s original congas from the 1960s. Last but not least is Natal’s top range: the Cubana series that are custom built in the UK from Ash wood or fiberglass to any finish, size and specification you want.
