Mike Johnston has joined the Vic Firth family and in the videos below you can see him announcing it on Instagram and Facebook in two different videos. Mike's main reason for switching from Vater to Vic Firth: the company's rich history in education and creating educational content. And they are working on new content to be released soon. We added two of our interview videos with Mike talking about his thoughts on education.
As Mike says in the video: "I can't wait for you guys to see what we're working on."
Mike's Vic sticks We see Mike playing the American Jazz 1 (AJ1) sticks in the announcement videos. These sticks have the diameter of a 5B but with a long taper and narrow neck. The shaft is 16", or 40.64cm.
Made out of Hickory the lacquered sticks have a tear drop shaped tip.
We wouldn't be surprised if Mike has his own signature sticks and brushes with Vic Firth soon!
