On September 25, 2005 it was exactly twentyfive years ago that Led Zeppelin drummer John Henry Bonham passed away. Up to this day \"Bonzo\" is still a musical inspiration to many drummers worldwide. \"\"So it\'s been 25 years. It still seems only yesterday that I was standing on stage next to him locking into another earth-moving groove. He always looked for a different angle, always came up with the unexpected. You had to pay attention when playing with him, but the ride was exhilarating and for me, as a musician, life-changing. (...) He is still with us.\"
In other news about John Bonham: The Toronto Sun recently published a two-page tribute to the drummer, reprinting an interview from April 1970. You can read the article here in pdf format.
Bonham speaks about his musical influences, giving drum solos with his bare hands in stead of drum sticks, Paul McCartney as a drummer among other things.
