Jim van de Kerkhof (Uplifted, Morton Black, among others) is Dutch female-fronted metal band Morning\'s new drummer. He is replacing Mauro Pi. Initially Jim stepped in as session sticksman for live shows, but now the group has recruited him as their newest member.\"During the first rehearsal with Jim, then as a session drummer, everything immediately felt right. Of course some very good drummers came for auditions, but at the moment Jim also told the band he wanted to be part of Morning, the choice was easy.\"
Morning recently entered the studio to record their sophomore album, due late 2007/early 2008 via an as-yet-undetermined label. The follow-up to 2005\'s \'Hour of Joy\' (Black Lotus Records) is being produced by Gail Liebling (Gail Of God), who has previously worked with such bands as Callenish Circle, Cruachan (as a producer), Fear Factory and Symphony X (as a sound engineer).
